Homeopathy Medicine for Avascular Necrosis

286

Avascular necrosis, also known as osteonecrosis, is the death of bone tissue as a result of a lack of blood supply. It can cause minute fractures in the bone as well as the eventual collapse of the bone.

Avascular necrosis is linked to long-term use of high-dose steroids, excessive alcohol consumption, and broken bones or dislocated joints, which can cut off blood supply to a section of bone.

Affected individuals can be of any age, but those between the ages of 30 and 50 are most frequently affected.

Symptoms

As avascular necrosis progresses, the affected joint may initially only hurt when we put weight on it, but eventually we may experience pain even when we are lying down. In the early stages of the condition, many people experience no symptoms.

Along with the hip, the shoulder, knee, hand, and foot are also likely to be affected. Avascular necrosis of the hip is characterized by pain, which can range from mild to severe and typically worsens over time.

Bilaterally, or in both hips or knees, avascular necrosis can occur in some people.

Causes

Blood flow to a bone can be interrupted or reduced for a variety of reasons, which can result in avascular necrosis.

  • Joint or bone trauma.Blood vessels may be harmed by trauma, such as a dislocated joint, as well as by radiation used in cancer treatments.
  • Fatty deposits in blood vessels. The blood flow that supplies bones can be reduced when the fat (lipids) block tiny blood vessels.
  • Certain diseases.Reduced blood flow to bone can also be a symptom of medical conditions like Gaucher’s disease and sickle cell anemia.

HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT

Syphilinum

There is a distinct pattern regarding the appearance and disappearance of pains, including a gradual increase in bone pains and, in a similar fashion, a gradual disappearance of pains. Useful when there is a worsening of pains because of heat and some relief by applying cold water. There is a great craving for alcoholic stimulants and a history of excessive alcoholism.

Silicea

The site of action for using Silicea includes long bones like the humerus (bone in the upper arm), femur (bone in the thigh), and tibia (bone in front of leg). There is sensitivity to cold air when bone pains get worse from a slight exposure to cold air. Warmth brings relief.

Fluoric Acid

The humerus, which is located in the upper arm, the femur, which is located in the thigh, and the tibia, which is located in front of the leg, are among the long bones that can become necrotic. It is useful to prevent this from happening because the condition is exacerbated by excess body heat.

Aurum Metallicum

Useful for necrosis in the palatine and nasal bones, when pain worsens at night and the patient experiences a highly offensive mouth and nose odor in addition to pain, and when the patient experiences a high degree of sadness and depression.

Natrum Sulph

When pain worsens with motion, stooping, etc., it is very helpful for AVN of the hip joint.
