FAMILY: Rutaceae

English names for this plant include Pilocarpus, Indian Hemp, and Jaborandi.

A small, branched shrub with smooth, grey bark that is speckled with white dots, small, pinkish-purple flowers in racemes, leaves that are alternate and imparipinnate with three pairs of leaflets and a terminal leaflet, short stalks, and numerous pellucid glands.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

HYPERSECRETION OF ALL GLANDS: Abnormal sweating, particularly at night in tuberculosis; profuse and copious sweating, starting on the forehead and space and spreading to the entire body; profuse salivation; free flow of tears; at the same time, there is increased secretion of Schneiderian membrane with increased activity of the mucous glands of the pharynx, the trachea, and the bronchi; and watery copious diarrhea.

EYE: Effective treatment for farsightedness (hyperopia), choroiditis, asthenopia, hypermetropia, and cataract. Vision becomes blurry, and distant objects appear hazy. The eyes tire quickly. Eye strain from any source. White spots appear before the eyes. Pupils constrict and do not react to light. Sometimes, the sight of moving objects causes nausea.

GOITER: It is a treatment for exopthalmic goiter, which has symptoms like increased heartbeat and artery pulsation, as well as trembling, anxiety, heat, sweating, and bronchial irritation.

MUMPS: reducing the illness’ duration.

UREMIA: Urine increased during sweating, which is very helpful in kidney disease, particularly with uremia, which eliminates both water and urea.

HAIR: For baldness, hair loss, early graying, and turning light hair black, a good hair restorer is available.

Mother tincture with a potency of six or higher.
